What I like to call the “Old School Denim” trend has been slowly gaining momentum over the last few years. The trend consists of two main types of denim, with a very specific cut: the “Mom Jean” and the “Boyfriend Jean.” The boyfriend jean cut is more well known (loose/baggy fit, often with holes, bleach or other distressed qualities) and has been trending for awhile, but the mom jean trend, originally from the 90’s, came back full force only about a year ago (summer 2014).
The mom jean is typically a lighter fade of denim, without holes or distress in the jeans, that fits loosly around the legs and more tightly–but not too tight, remember this was 90’s moms that originally rocked the trend–in the waist and hip area. I basically fell in love with this trend when I saw my good friend Liv, the sort of sexy, edgy type, wearing a pair she bought from Urban Outfitters in June 2014.

Liv’s jeans are no longer on sale at UrbanOutfitters.com but they have some similar styles, see below:

Where to Buy This Trend
I would suggest starting with Levis.com
Topshop.com usually has a good stock (though it was low when I checked)
As does ASOS.com
(ASOS is great because it also carries designer brands and plus sizes)
As well as Zara.com
